Spencer Heidtbrink: Optical zoom keeps the image crisp. i've got observed that digital zoom gets very grainy, very rapid. I even have a 4MP digital camera that takes good, clean, bright photos yet gets grainy and terrible once you utilize the digital zoom. My determination is the Optical Zoom over MP.
Eliseo Luma: At least you got the brand right. Nikon is the best brand for those who count megapixels or zoom X's. So what's better? Knowing the basic principles of photography. If you are familiar with that, you'll learn that zoom and megapixels are nothing.
Rosio Pasculli: which camera would you choose? nikon p100 or nikon l110? which camera has better reviews?
Delmer Pectol: The P100 is much better. It has an electronic view finder you can look through. This is important as the LCD screen often becomes washed out when you're shooting out of doors. I have the P90, and it's a great little camera. The P100 is even better ! I just got home from taking photo! s of our local police departments red light camera system. And they turned out great. I even was able to zoom in on the label on the side of the camera case. It was made in Australia !...Show more
Jene Kostyla: Optical zoom. Megapixels don't mean much unless you want to make huge prints and/or do a lot of cropping. In this case, both cameras have plenty of optical zoom. You can't go wrong with either.. just go with the one that fits under your budget.
Giovanni Malool: Nikon Coolpix P100 is better than Nikon Coolpix L110 because Nikon Coolpix P100 is have more optical zoom (26x), support Full 1080p HD movie recording and have a Viewfinder.I recommend get a Nikon Coolpix P100.Nikon Coolpix P100 : 10.3MP, 26x wide-angle optical zoom, 3.0-inch vari-angle high resolution HVGA Clear Color Display, Full 1080p HD movie recording, 5-way VR Image Stabilization System, Smart Portrait System, etc. (Announced : February, 2010)http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0034XFG86?ie=UTF! ...Nikon Coolpix L110 : 12.1 MP, 15x Optical Vibration Reducti! on (VR) Zoom, 3.0-Inch LCD, HD Movie (720p) with stereo sound, 5-way VR Image Stabilization System, Sport Continuous Mode, Intelligent automation contributes to carefree shooting, etc.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0034XIMG4?ie=UTF......Show more
Ha Wolski: There are really pros and cons to each. Either way you're going to get crystal clear photos whether you chose 10 or 12 mp's. Therefore, I would personally choose the p100. From my experience with cameras and photography there is not a huge difference between 10 and 12 mp's. However, if you don't plan on taking many far away shots, you may not use the zoom feature all that often. In that case, go with the 110.
Derrick Cacioppo: An 8 mp cameras photo is very clear at 20" X 30". Estimate the maximum print size you will print, both cameras will likely work well. Higher MPs allow you to digitally crop your photo. So if all you want to print is an 8"X10", you can select the best part of that 20"x30" photo to pr! int. Zoom allows you to better frame the photo in the first place.Since the Zoom and total MPs work together, here is a simple way to judge overall image performance. Simply multiply OPTICAL zoom by the total MPs. (Digital zoom is not relevant in this). So:The P100 is 10mp and 26 Optical Zoom for a total of 260.The I110 is 12mp and 15 optical for a total of 180 Beyond these zoom levels, fewer pixels are used. and the numbers begin to decline. And:The P100 is equal to the I110 at 18X zoom (10mp X 18X = 180)Now, how do you use the camera, the I110 is the better camera up to an effective zoom (Optical zoom plus cropping) of 18X, which is pretty telephoto. If you only shoot portraits and inside shots, stick with the I110. If you shoot outdoors and especially at the zoom levels above 18X, then the P100 is the better camera....Show more
