Wally Perrien: Probably not. Why? Because most companies are strictly by the book when it comes to hiring. The reason is the laws in most states are pretty clear about hiring underage kids. In some states, you can work at 16 years of age BUT with a signed, consent from (permit) from your parents. The reason is to not allow the work to interfere with your school grades.Why not work for yourself? Do odd jobs, window washing, painting, etc. Self employed is the ONLY way to go in life. You have no boss giving you grief, no one to complain about, no politics or cliques, it's just YOU.Samples of work you could do:1. Windown Washing2. Painting3. Dog Walking4. Recycling aluminum cans5. Lawn maintenance6. Gardening assistant7. Typist8. Go-Fer (garages or shops- get them tools, lunch, coffee, etc.)9.Tutor (if you're good in a subject)10. Music Lessons (if you're good at an instrument)11. Car w! asher & Detailer12. Shipper - box up items to be shipped, have them give you the funds and you go and wait in line at UPS or USPS13. Babysitting14. Pressure washer15. FIeld hand - picking fruits, veggies in fields16. Hay Baling - when it's time to bale the hay (good workout too!)17. Small engine repairing - people always have trouble with their weedeaters, chainsaws and lawn mowers in getting them started.18. Any combination of the aboveIn some of them, you may have to learn a little something such as #17 small engine repair.
