Which card game takes the greatest skill to win?

King Bringle: Bridge.

Coleman Ocegueda: Well, it isn't a playing card game of Ace-King, but Magic the Gathering is a game that takes a great amount of skill and thought. It was awarded one of the most thought involved puzzling games a while back by Mensa(An organzation for genius ranked people). There is some luck in magic just because you could draw good cards and your opponent might not, but once you have the cards you have to be very smart to play them right and beat your opponent.

Sammy Tabatt: TWO-HAND Games:For two-handed games there is no game that requires more skill than two-handed Pinochle. (available on Hoyle Card Games 200x)Quoting John Scarne, author of Scarne’s Encyclopedia of Card Games, “Although not played as often as three and four-handed versions of the game (Pinochle), two-hand Pinochle is, in my opinion, the one game of the Pinochle family demanding of the player the most skill. No, I’ll go further than that: In this game there i! s more room and need for strategy than in any other two-handed game. In most two-handed games, including Gin Rummy, a lucky beginner can occasionally hold his own against an expert in a session lasting over several hours. In two-hand Pinochle, the element of skill is decisive, over the short or long run.” Aside from the melding aspect of Two-Hand Pinochle, the game bears little resemblance to its four-hand counterparts. Another two-handed game is Casino, sometimes spelled Cassino. It is a simple game on the surface but it takes great skill to play well. It is one of the best card games for two people. It reached its height of popularity before, during and after WW II up until the early 1950s. Many a unsuspecting GI thinking this was a simple game was “taken to the cleaners” by experienced fellow GI Casino players. It is very similar to another two-hand game, Tablanette.THREE-HAND GamesSheepsheadSheepshead, nicknamed “Shep”, also known as Schafkopf or Sch! afskopf, is a trick playing game of Wendish origin and is beli! eved to be over 200 years old. It is a precursor of the more codified and scientific Skat, the national card game of Germany. Although Sheepshead may be played with 2 to 5 players, three players make the best game.Sheepshead is played in many forms without having achieved any true standard set of rules. As Sheepshead is of Wendish(German) origin, it has its greatest following in the upper midwest, especially the state of Wisconsin and more specifically, Milwaukee, where the National Shep Association is headquarteredThree Hand Auction Pinochle is another good three-hand game.FOUR-HAND Games:Bridge, a game that is easy to learn but a lifetime to master, requires the most skill. Other four hand games that are easy to learn but require less skill to play well include Pinochle, Spades, Hearts and Euchre....Show more

Perry Deshazior: My favorite skill card game is Euchre. It's not too hard to learn, and it's a great simple game to play with 4 people.

Phil Kuarez! : A couple of card games that take a lot of skill to win are Pinochle and Spades. Hearts is another card game that requires some skill.
