Vince Delarge: This Site Might Help You.RE:Price break if I trade-in one car and buy two cars at the same time from the same dealer? My daughter is 18 and drives a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. My son will be turning 16 soon and will be needing a car. We are thinking about trading in the Tahoe and buying two smaller cars. If we buy both cars from the same dealer are we likely to get a price cut? Any tips about how to go about doing this?...Show more
Floy Fague: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/avZOwDont let them know you have a trade in and dont let them know that you will pay cash (if you can afford it). Then talk them down to the lowest price possible and all of a sudden call somebody and say that you have a car or two in your case to trade in and tell them a higher number then what you expect to get b/c they just might give it to you. I talked a dealer down real well and then i traded in a broke down KIA for 2000 so Good Luck...Show more
Jef! ferson Sarson: What are you wanting to buy? New or used? Some of the manufacturers have their new cars priced at rock bottom now. You may want to try & sell that Tahoe yourself. It's 10 years old & a SUV. Over 100K miles? Most dealers will just wholesale it & the market is very weak on SUV's.Not to imply you aren't serious about buying 2 cars, dealers have heard that story many times when it ends up the people only buy one, if anything. Don't expect a dealer to "drop his pants" immediately on hearing that statement! In today's market, a smart dealer will try to put together a "win/win" deal - you get the cars you want & he makes a little money & moves 2 pieces in his inventory. If you were looking used, I would show you some bargain priced vehicles...something that was mechanically sound but had just not sold for whatever reason (i.e. wrong color, too many in stock, etc.). Priced at or less than what we had invested in it. And may have a bonus commission to the sal! esperson. Now, if your kids restrict the choices to hot, in d! emand cars, you've limited the flexibility in the deal.I would just be straight forward; "I need 2 cars; one for my daughter & one for my son. I'm looking at spending or payments of $XXX with $X down. I will buy today or am willing to wait for the right cars." Expect them to ask questions. Give them time to think of some possibilities or alternatives (maybe one's coming in trade next week).I won't even get into the other type of dealer; the one that "plays the game."...Show more
Vickie Sterbenz: Maybe, but the only way you'll know is to compare at a few different dealers. A dealer can certainly tell you he's giving you a better deal for buying two vehicles, but dealers only tell you what you want to hear. A dealer's cost for selling two vehicles to the same customer is about the same as selling to two different customers.BTW, credit for the trade-in vehicle will only be applied to the price of one of the two new vehicles, not split between both....Show more
! Saran Stealy: I don't think you should expect that they will automatically give you better deals but they should be a little more willing to bend to your negotiations. Selling two cars to the same person, as opposed to selling them searately, doesn't really save them any money. But it might help them reach their sales goals a little faster.
Delora Struzzi: We are wanting to buy two used hondas. They seem reliable and get good gas mileage.
