Buddy Ardd: Yes. An employment authorization card (EAD) does not give you permission to enter the country. You must have either a Permanent Resident Card (green card) or a valid visa and unexpired I-94. If you do not have these documents and you leave the United States, you could be barred from reentering the US for 10 years! Please do not risk it!However, you cannot get an EAD unless you are lawfully present in the US, which means you SHOULD have either a green card or a visa/I-94.
